Living in Florida, we are always dealing with the heat! Below are a few tips to help cool off on those hot days. Block the sun. Closing curtains and blinds (We made curtains out of sun shade material that lets light in but keeps heat out) can reduce the amount of heat that passes into your home by as much as 45 percent. Keep a small spray bottle of water in your fridge – when you need to cool down, give your wrists and neck a spray. Use fans wisely.
- If you live in a non-humid environment, place a shallow bowl of ice in front of a fan – as the ice melts, it will cool the air.
- If your house gets warmer than the outside temperatures, a fan blowing outside can suck the warm air out and pull cooler air in!
- Running a fan in the room you are in can help you feel cooler – just turn it off when you aren’t there. While fans make us feel cooler, they don’t actually cool the air temperature so there is no benefit to running them when there is no one around.
This fan works great for all of these methods – the tower fan is quiet and moves a lot of air! I got it at a reduced price through Tomoson – we have rally been enjoying this Trustech Fan! It has a remote and three different speeds – plus it is very quiet!
