How often do you think about what is in your toothpaste? We brush our teeth every day, several times a day, but if you’re like me you don’t pay a ton of attention to that long list of ingredients! If you’re looking for a natural tooth care approach, you should check out the Himalaya line!

Moms Meet sent me several of Himalaya Botanique’s Complete Care Toothpaste to try. One of the first things I noticed was the color of the paste. It’s not the sharp white that you see in a lot of commercial toothpastes – how do they get it that white anyway??? I was also impressed by the wide range of flavors they have available. Peppermint, spearmint, Cinnamon, and even a pomegranate!
Here are some of the ingredients that Himalaya uses and their functions:
- Neem Leaf: Cleans teeth and gives the formulation it’s sparkle. Neem contains chemicals that help kill bacteria and prevent plaque formation in the mouth, according to Web MD.
- Pomegranate: An astringent fruit extract that supports healthy looking gums.
Triphala: Traditional detox formula composed of the three myrobalan fruits. Looks like it has a lot of different health benefits!
Xylitol: Tooth-friendly sweetener that supports good oral hygiene.
Papain and Bromelain: The enzymes from papaya and pineapple, they are in the whitening formulas to help remove surface stains.
So I love the way the toothpaste tastes and makes my mouth feel. My daughter tried the cinnamon, and it was too spicy for her. Of course, now she won’t try the other flavors! I will continue using this toothpaste – I think it’s fantastic!
