Are you looking for a great gift idea for an animal lover or someone who just loves learning new things? National Geographic offers books for adults and kids ages four and up. Books retail anywhere between $3.99 and $40.00 depending on the title. They sent a selection of their books to use to review, and I was very impressed!

National Geographic is one of the world’s premier scientific, education, and research organizations. For more than 125 years, the National Geographic team has been dedicated to exploring and documenting the world. Their message reaches more than 450 million people worldwide, each month through several media outlets. The company has funded more than 10,000 conservation, exploration, and scientific expeditions in support of their mission “to inspire people to care about the planet.” As part of this mission, National Geographic also offers nonfiction books for both adults and kids to help educate and inspire. National Geographic is the leading kids nonfiction publisher, and each of their books is packed with photos, facts, and fun, offering the perfect balance of “edu-tainment” for kids and parents. If you’re looking to get your kids excited about learning, National Geographic books are a great place to start.

Little Miss loves browsing through all of these books. I like that they have great books no matter what your reading level is, so you can encourage your young reader without frustrating them. Little Miss picked out Everything Pets to donate to her classroom library. This book has fun facts scattered throughout, and great photos of animals that most children will be familiar with.

Little Kids First Big Book of Why is great for the child who has a lot of questions and curiosity. This book features big, color photographs, playful design, lots of questions to encourage interactivity, and fun, hands-on activities. You can open it to any random page and find something interesting!

Almanac 2014 has mobile media features that go along with this book are a great way to bring the book to another level. There are so many amazing animals, cool inventions, dinosaurs, robots, maps, games, activities, and more to enjoy!

Just Joking 4 has the perfect humor for Little Miss to learn and take back to her classroom! It’s full of cute knock-knock jokes and other funnies that will have your child giggling.

Ultimate Weird but True is by far our favorite! Every page has the weirdest animals, freakiest foods, extremely odd sports, mind-bending inventions, and so much more. Truth is often stranger than fiction, and this book proves it.

There were many other books as well – even though some were more suited for an older audience, they all have the great photos you’ve come to expect from National Geographic.  I let Little Miss donate some of the books to her school – she was so excited about that!
