Moonrise Kingdom–A Review

Are you a fan of Wes Anderson’s films? I think most people are either fans or aren’t – not many in-betweens. For me, I’m a huge fan. I love the quirkiness that is in most of his films, and this one does not disappoint. Remember your first teenage crush? Moonrise Kingdom takes you straight back to it, and you feel as though Wes Anderson wrote this movie when he was a starry-eyed preteen in love. There is an overwhelming feeling of innocence and good will throughout. You can watch it with your children, or with your parents, and it’s still a great movie!

Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward are the stars of this movie, and they were well cast. Along with them, you’ll see a ton of well-recognized faces in this movie. All do a great job without stealing the spotlight away from the two stars.
