Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope you’re all using this day to indulge yourself a little bit.  I mean, that’s what it’s really all about, right?  My husband gave me some beautiful Black South Seas Pearl Earrings this year – I’ve been wearing them all day and wishing he were here with us!  I also bought myself some flowers because I just love fresh flowers on occasion, and I’ve learned that I should just buy them myself instead of waiting to get them as a gift.  Little Miss and I are really enjoying them!  I got mostly purple ones since that’s one of her favorite colors.

If I weren’t so stuffy, I’d treat myself to this yummy martini tonight.  Instead, I’ll be indulging in decongestant, and maybe a little chocolate!

This martini gives a great chocolate taste without being too sweet.

Chocolate Martini

  • 3/4 ounce Amaretto (Brandy will work too)
  • 3/4 ounce Crème de Cocoa
  • 3/4 ounce Chocolate Vodka (I used 360)
  • splash of ginger syrup (optional)
  • 3/4 ounce (or more) milk of your choosing

Put all ingredients in a shaker.  Shake well and pour into a chilled martini glass.

If you happen to have some shaved chocolate laying around, by all means sprinkle that on top.

Although there were no drinks or “parties” celebrated today, this drink looks quite “inviting & tasty”!!

  2. Happy Valentines day!!!!
That martini looks FABULOUS!!! I will try it at my next book club!!!! Fabulous idea suited perfectly for my gang of girls!

BTW I bought my own flowers too, but Dream Baby did bring me a bag of Starbucks beans (NEW IN NORWAY!!!!) and a bottle of wine with a red ribbon on it when he served me coffee in bed…

    • How sweet! Hubby e-mailed me before I even woke up, and called several times.
Now that he works out of town, it really makes sense to buy my own flowers – they’re so much cheaper at the grocery store or smaller flower shops when you don’t have to pay for delivery!
I used almond milk in that martini, but I know anything else would work just fine.

This sounds fun and tasty! I would like to try the Crème de Cocoa alone also.
